NEW The Rose: Mystery MA

From: Mike Schneider (tehutika@yahoo.com) | Date: 2003-06-17 18:20:24 UTC-07:00
The Rose
Somewhere in MA

Placed: June 17, 2003 by TehutiKa, AsetKa and kids!
Distance: Depends how long you wander around....
Time: As long as it takes to find it!
Difficulty: It's a mystery....

Clue:

Far to the west
over the river
through the fields
was a garden

A grand garden
full of life
and flowers
lovingly planted

It belonged to us all
this oasis of life
but most of all
it belonged to her

My grandmother
full of life
and full of joy
just like her garden

Unchanged to young eyes
day after day
year after year
just like her

We would go there
all of us kids
and laugh and play
under her careful gaze

The gazebo was hers
a shaded sanctuary
from which she ruled
and gave us direction

Among the flowers
along the paths
and around the hedges
was my own haven

Underneath my bush
beyond the hedge
just out of sight
my secret place

My place of haven
where I hid
my childhood fears
and boyhood dreams

She is gone now
and so am I
moved away south
with a family of my own

But the garden remains
same as it was
full of life and secrets
are my dreams still there?

The more you love, the more you can love. And the more intensely you love. Nor is there any limit on how many you can love. If a person had time enough, he could love all of that majority who are decent and just. - Lazarus Long
